The Secondary Principals Association of New Zealand is the professional body representing teachers and principals in secondary, area and intermediate schools, technicraft centres, community education and itinerant music positions.

SPANZ holds an Annual Principals' Conference open to all New Zealand Secondary Principals. There is also a PA/EA Conference held annually for the Principal's administrative support staff.

SPANZ produces a wide range of professional material including regular President's Comments.

SPANZ has a wide network including Ministry of Education, Qualifications and Assessment bodies, Māori Education, Principals' Support, Publications, Staffing, Student's Pastoral Needs, Resourcing.

SPANZ offers all its members the opportunity to become members of a legal costs fund. The fund was established to replace legal cost insurance and gives its members full control over the usage of the fund without any requirement to maintain a margin for profit. 

In addition eligible members may also join the SPANZ Union, the Union is your voice and opportunity to vote and have a say in what is important to you as a Secondary Principal.
